For 31 years Rudy Atwood was the featured pianist on the Old Fashioned Revival Hour with Dr. Charles E Fuller. An estimated 15 to 20 million people heard this hour long international broadcast on the ABC radio network each Sunday. Nearly 5,000 others attended the live broadcasts which originated at the Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California. Music was a vital part of the broadcast . Rudy's piano artistry was one of its most popular features. Many listeners said they tuned in just to hear Rudy's superb piano playing.

Combining his classical training along with his signature piano runs and arpeggios, Rudy became one of the most imitated gospel pianists of all time. He had a unique style that no other gospel pianist of the twentieth century could match and became known as the Dean Of Gospel Pianists. He published over fifty piano arrangements which still remain best sellers among piano teachers and church pianists today.

For nearly six decades, Rudy Atwood conducted numerous piano concerts which were always well attended by enthusiastic audiences. Dr. Atwood generally did not allow these concerts to be recorded, so very few recordings exist today. However, on one occasion, he was persuaded to allow a live recording of his concert to be made. (All photos used in this CD were taken  at the concert by Read Burgan who also persuaded Rudy to allow the performance to be recorded. In addition, Read digitally restored and remastered the original recordings for this CD.)

This CD was produced from the original masters of this rare, live Rudy Atwood piano concert, performed on May 1, 1989 at Northland Baptist College, Dunbar, Wisconsin. Rudy was 76 years old at the time. Five minutes of lost and previously missing material are also included, and have been painstakingly restored and inserted back into their original place within the program. This concert can now be heard in its entirety for the first time since the original performance.
