Paul Mickelson, Organist and Rudy Atwood, Piano -- Keyboards And Strings
Here's what's inside the CD cover Rudy Atwood, renowned pianist on the Old Fashioned Revival Hour Broadcast, teams up with Paul Mickelson, noted organist for the Billy Graham crusades, and accomplished orchestra conductor. Their distinctive musical styles combine to create one of the most unique and beautiful musical blends. Rudy Atwood was one of the best loved gospel pianists of the twentieth century. His distinctive arpeggios and bass runs made him unique among Christian pianists. Many people listened to the Old Fashioned Revival Hour broadcast each week just to hear Rudy's inspirational music. His unique style made him the most imitated Christian pianist of his time, and his recordings and original piano solo arrangements are still popular, long after his death in 1992. Today, through his recordings, a whole new generation is discovering his rich piano artistry, while others relive the majestic sounds of Rudy's Music that inspired them many years ago. Paul Mickelson started in the Christian music field as organist at the famed Angeles Temple in Los Angeles, California. In 1950 he joined the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as organist where he remained until 1957. A multi-talented musician, arranger and entrepreneur, Paul was a giant in the Christian music arena for several decades. Over the years, Paul played and recorded on some of the world's greatest pipe organs, and his unique musical blend of beautiful harmonies and skillful organ techniques brought him international acclaim as one of America's greatest gospel organists. He was also well known as one of the world's premier orchestral arrangers and conductors. His albums conducting such world-class orchestra as the London Concert Orchestra have become beloved classics, and as founder of Supreme Productions Inc., he produced records of some of the most popular sacred artists of the twentieth century. This CD has been digitally re-mastered from the original
recordings in Mr. Mickelson's personal archives. The vibrant tones of the piano,
the deep bass of the organ, and the rich harmonies of the concert strings, all
blended together with the exquisite keyboard artistry of Rudy Atwood and Paul
Mickelson, make this recording an inspirational treasure and a rewarding audio
experience. | |||||||||
