Harold DeCou -- Keyboards, Strings, and Brass
Message Inside The CD Cover... Harold DeCou is not a newcomer to the sacred recording field. Over the years, his artistry has been in demand on the Singspiration and Word record labels. He is also the former editor and arranger for Singspiration Music Publishing Company. For many years, Harold DeCou was the organist on the "Word Of Life" coast-to-coast radio broadcast with Jack Wyrtzen. He has been associated with some of the best known Christian leaders in the field of evangelism, including: Percy Crawford, Dick Robinson, and George Sweeting, to mention a few. Later, he joined the musical staff of Youth For Christ International and traveled extensively throughout the USA and Canada. Now, on this new CD, you are able to once again enjoy Harold DeCou's creative musicianship at the organ and piano, revealing his genuine love and dedication to the ministry of sacred music at its finest. About Harold
DeCou... Mr. DeCou was six years old when he began his study of music. In his teens, he was appointed organist for one of the largest churches in Philadelphia. Following graduation from high school, Harold was awarded a music scholarship, and attended Temple University in Philadelphia, where he majored in piano and organ. Subsequently, he served as organist for Calvary Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for fourteen years. Harold's service to church music has not been limited to the local church. Extensive participation in evangelistic crusades and conferences has led him to pursue his ministry throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. In addition to performing as an accompanist or solo artist on the piano and organ, Harold has also worked with choirs, orchestras and numerous vocal and instrumental groups. As a talented composer and arranger, Harold has participated in the production of music for radio and television. His writing has also enhanced he recordings of many vocal soloists and choral groups. Harold's published works include volumes of music for the church organist and church pianist as well as numerous choral works. He has recorded several albums of piano and organ music. Harold and his
wife reside in Peoria, Illinois, where he currently serves on the staff of Grace
Presbyterian Church.
