Erin Cross -- This Is My Father's World
About Erin Cross:
Hello, My name is Erin Cross...I was saved when I was about 12 years old, and I was home-schooled for most of my school years. The Lord used a Bible teacher on a home school video program, that I was using at the time, to show me my need for Him. The Lord convicted and showed me that I was a sinner, and that I was lost without Him. He also showed me my need to confess and repent of my sins and to trust in the blood of Jesus as the only way to salvation in Him. I repented of my sins, trusted in the blood of Christ as payment for my sin, and surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus. I now desire to walk with Jesus and to follow Him at any cost in my life.
Since I have been born again, the Lord has been faithful to lead and guide me in my walk with Him as I look to Him. It is because of what Jesus has done for me in saving my soul, and because He lives in my heart, that I have a reason to play and sing. I desire to honor the Lord with the music that I play and sing. Because of this, I play only sacred music on the harp and other instruments that I play.
I have been playing the harp for 8 years now (as of August 2006). I have played my harps in several weddings, church services, Christian family homes, and assisted living and nursing homes. My desire is to bless and minister to others with the gift that the Lord has given to me. I desire to continue with this harp ministry in the future as well.
...I am the oldest of seven children. I am thankful to have been raised in a Christian home. Our family has attended, for the most part, conservative Baptist churches during my growing up years.
The message inside the CD cover reads...
This Is My Father's World.
The Bible says in Psalms 24:1, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." God's Word also says: "In he beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Gen 1:1) "All things were created by Him, and for Him" and "without Him was not anything made that was made." (Col 1:16; John 1:3) God said everything He created "was very good" and for His "pleasure they are and were created." (Gen 1:31; Rev 4:11) This world and everything in it is the Lord's - He made it and owns it all!
This is my Father's world, and to my listening
The Lord takes pleasure in the things He made and calls for it to make music to Him! "Sing, O ye heavens... shout ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein." (Is 44:23) These verses tell us that His creation does sing: "The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." (Is 55:12) "The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing." (Ps 65:13) Even the spheres - the sun, the moon, and the stars "in their courses" all give glory and praise to God as their Creator! "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handiwork." Ps 19:1)
This is my Father's world, the birds their carols
God is clearly seen in the things he has made - the birds with their sweet carols; the flowers with their brilliant colors; the sunrises and sunsets with their lovely hues; the twinkling stars and spinning planets; the glowing moon and shining sun; the lofty sky and puffy clouds; the glittering lakes and oceans; the blooming fields and forests; and the majestic hills and mountains - all these speak of Who God is, just as His Word says: "For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things which are made, even His eternal power and Godhead." (Rom 1:20)
This is my Father's world, O let me ne'er forget
The last verse of this hymn reminds us that despite all of the sin and wickedness that is so much a part of this present world, God still owns and reigns over all His creation. His Word says, "Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; and let men say among the nations, the Lord reigneth. Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein. Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord, because He cometh to judge the earth." (I Chronicales 16:31-13)
God created this world - and mankind above all- to worship Him and to be in perfect fellowship with Him; but because of our sin against God, this has been broken. To restore this broken oneness, God sent His Son Jesus to die that we, through His blood, may receive forgiveness for our sins, and be brought back to worship Him. May we, as the highest of all God's creation, made in His very own image, be first to give Him all the glory, honor, and praise which is so due His Name, and join in the chorus of Whom "all nature sings."
